About Lifestyle Landscapes

We are a small, close-knit team. I am Andy Cole, and my team is lead by Mike Kynock.

We also provide work experience for pupils at local schools to give an insight to landscape and general gardening, all staff are given continual training as required to update their skills.

Andy Cole

I grew up on a farm, and have spent all my working life in agriculture, landscaping and garden design. My roots in agriculture have given me traditional skills, such as dry stone walling, woodland maintenance and hedge laying, while my landscape gardening work includes the installation of ponds and other water features, wildflower meadows, specific planting schemes, and adapting gardens for the use of clients with mobility needs. I also make ornamental metal sculptures such as bird tables and archways from recycled farm machinery.

Underlying my work with gardens and plants is my work as a clairvoyant and healer (or, as my children call it, weird stuff!) Our aim at Lifestyle Landscapes is always to enhance the pleasure, the sense of peace, beauty and balance in our gardens. Often a client is aware of the special atmosphere of their own garden, and I enjoy creating designs that integrate buildings, natural features, hard landscaping and planting schemes to bring out the best of that atmosphere. On the other hand, a new house and garden might seem to lack atmosphere, and I like the challenge of working in just the same way to bring that new space alive.

I am also interested in working more deeply with the land alongside those clients who are themselves spiritually aware. We plan the geometry, watercourses and planting schemes with specific stimulus, healing, relaxation or even sacred functions in mind. This often involves the use of plants with age-old uses in folklore, medicine and ceremony. Herbs like lavender and chamomile are well-known for their soothing properties, but the combination and positioning of other, native plants can offer a deeper spiritual significance.

Michael Kynock

Mike joined us in November 2004, as a healer he encompass the ethos of the company and his enthusiasm for nature and the natural approach to doing things is of great value. His practical skills and ability combined with his communication skills with customers and personnel has made him the ideal choice to head up our team.
